Due to Conservationist Efforts the Flamingos are Back!

SEABA will stage its annual "Flamingo Fling" Silent Auction and Membership Meeting on June 12th, in Burlington’s South End. SEABA is seeking 60 artists to creatively decorate and reinterpret these iconic lawn ornaments designed fifty years ago by Don Featherstone. The original pink flamingo factory in Leominster, Mass., went out of business two years ago, and only recently have the flamingos been resurrected, making it possible for SEABA to bring back this popular event. These unique and frequently outrageous pink flamingos will then be the focus of the silent auction during SEABA’s "Flamingo Fling" Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday June 12, 2008. All proceeds benefit SEABA and its year-round activities. Artists interested in participating may reserve their pink flamingo by calling or emailing the SEABA Office at (802) 859-9222, or <info@seaba.com>. Only 60 of these winged creatures are available, so artists are encouraged to contact SEABA before they fly away!
