Discover poetry through ballads by Vermont poet George Albert Leddy (1883-1967) dramatically performed by his grandson Chris Abair - both lived in the South End of Burlington. This will be taped and later shown on Channel 15.

DEEP FRIED BOOKS

Create altered books by battering and deep-frying them. The project is a commentary on America's obsession with an unhealthy lifestyle, unstable foreign policy and blatant disregard for intellectualism. Folks are encouraged to bring their own books to be fried.

Looking for a one-night stand? Visual art and performance collide in this installment from Heat & Hot Water Productions. "Seeking . . ." is a work-in-progress that explores the funny, touching, sometimes heartbreaking way people connect through the personal ads.
MARTIAL ART OF AIKIDO DEMONSTRATION
7-8pm
Aikido of Champlain Valley, 257 Pine Street
Rather than relying on strikes and kicks, Aikido students learn a subtle system of holding, throwing and pinning techniques.. The art emphasizes the cultivation of internal power or chi (vital energy within the body centered in the abdominal region) in addition to aerobic and muscular conditioning. Please take your shoes off before entering our space.

An Art Hop Fashion Event

Local indie designers exhibit their art in the categories of Embellished Tees, Dresses/Separates, Reconstructed Wear and Couture/Formal. The show is hosted by Channel 3’s Jack Thurston and Syndi Zook of the Lyric Theatre Company with music by DJ Precious.
