HEALTHY FOOD AND ART - 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, 180 Flynn Avenue
Staff of the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger will hold an art workshop for kids using fruits and vegetables as inspiration. We’ll also be serving healthy snacks from our Cooking for Life nutrition education program.

During Art Hop, children can try out music, theater, and dance classes of their choice as follows:

MINI-GOLF PUTT-PUTT 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Recycle North Building Materials Center, 339 Pine Street
The BUCKEYE NINE presents, in association with Recycle North and Recycle North Building Materials Supply Center, the third semi-annual conjuring of artist inspired miniature golf: Putt-Putt: A course made of recycled materials. Where's the first tee and what's the course record? We don't know yet! This 9-hole course will be built on-site for the Art-Hop weekend. Come experience installation art as mini-golf... or it is mini-golf as installation art?

Champlain College’s Art Hop Site at Champlain Valley Millworks, 16 Kilburn Street
Champlain College's site provides a provocative mix of graphic design, painting, sculpture, photography, live musical performance, performance art and computer-based media. Champlain College's Emergent Media Center will showcase an innovative type of fusion: art, programming, design and learning. There will be student-crafted interactive media: games for healthcare, archeology, training, and social change; Google mapping technology customized for our community; iPhone app development and much more.

The Soda Plant Design / Build Challenge
Soda Plant, 266 Pine Street
In this economy it is more important to HAVE FUN and SUPPORT the things we value. In that spirit Conant Metal & Light and the Soda Plant, have joined forces to launch an annual event that taps into Vermont’s creative spirit and supports the community. Chairs to be shown and judged during Art Hop. All chairs will be functional and for sale. Proceeds to benefit ReCycle North and SEABA.

ReCycle North; 266 Pine Street
Dress up those fingers with some fleece and flair! Recycle North will be hosting a DROP-IN "finger puppet" workshop. Kids and adults and invited to drop in and use provided materials such as : fleece, ribbon, zippers, silk flowers and all sorts of other good stuff! All ages (kids under 10 must be supervised by an adult).


SELAMTA FAMILY PROJECT 10:00 AM - 3 PM

Original works by Ethiopian children who have been orphaned as a result of the Aids epidemic. The graphic art works were created as block prints by the children of the Selamta Family Project in Addis Ababa and represent the distinct style of traditional Ethiopian art and symbolic icons.


TECHNOSTALGIA 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Participate in this interactive audio video sculpture using an Atari analog video controller. Discarded televisions are illuminated into colorful light boxes and audio signals are transformed into something unexpected, something malleable, through audio synthesis. Featuring a special performance by the artist from 1-2 PM.

“Witness to War: Reporting from an Occupied Land under Siege” Ayman Mohyeldin of Al Jazeera will talk about what he witnessed in Gaza during his coverage of the most recent war there, and reflect on the responsibilities and dangers of reporting from a war zone that is occupied, under siege and closed off to the world media.

RECYCLED ART PROJECT - 2:00 - 4:00 PM
BURTON SNOWBOARDS 80 Industrial Park
A Hands-On Recycled Art Project, a two-hour craft opportunity for kids of all ages to turn left over snowboard components into new creations. Participants can collage using catalogues, glitter and out-of-date Burton marketing materials such as photos, fabric samples and zippers, etc.
